Teaching & mentorship
Adjunct teaching in communication, digital media, and professional disciplines at St. John’s University and Kingsborough Community College. Helping students apply ideas in the world beyond the classroom.
Exploring how communication creates meaning—and bringing that understanding to the classroom, the field, and the communities we serve.

Clear ideas make a difference when they meet the real world.
A guiding philosophyI am a communication scholar, educator, emergency medical technician, and member of the New York Guard. My work spans higher education, emergency response, and technology leadership—fields that share a fundamental need for clear thinking, effective communication, and service to others.
For more than two decades, I have taught students to analyze messages, use technology with purpose, and connect what they learn to professional practice. My doctoral research examines how popular cinema shapes cultural ideas about power, identity, and firearms.
The stories we tell shape the meanings we share.
My 2026 doctoral dissertation at Liberty University examines how mainstream films communicate meanings about firearms through character, narrative, symbolism, and genre. The study explores recurring themes of power, heroism, conflict resolution, and identity.
Academic inquiry and hands-on service inform each other. Across every role, I focus on understanding people, solving problems, and making complex work clearer.
